A CMS, or content management system, is an online application used to create and manage your website and its content. It offers an advanced way to build a site and has many tailored solutions. Once the site has been constructed, users require no real technical skills to continue to manage it.
Open source CMS systems allow developers to build websites without having to write all the code, which means reduced costs and build time. The Contrast team uses a range of open source CMS to create almost any type of site – it’s a case of selecting the right system for the right job.
The three primary content management systems we use are WordPress, Joomla and Drupal – each one has different benefits. Because we use open source, our clients retain overall control of their site and are therefore not locked in to use us once the site is built. We, of course, are happy to work with our customers long-term, to maintain and help improve their web presence.
